The Closing Chapter
So the end has come and it is time to part ways, next week is my last
week at Conestoga College. Although, finishing this program and
getting back to a normal life was something that was desired from the
very beginning, there is a part of me that is a bit saddened by the
loss of leaving a community behind. A community that I have gotten to
know so well. Friendships made, networks created and perhaps an
enduring relationship with the city that has housed me for a year.
But the journeyman knows, you can never remain at one place for too
long. However, this is a small industry and I have a very strong
feeling that we will all meet again, at some point in our lives.
There are some from our program, that I will be working with during
the summer on film projects and some I will actually be in touch with
for a long time to come. After all social media has made such
advances that keeping in touch shouldn't be that big of a challenge.
I always try to see ends to certain things as more of a transition.
Yes, I will be leaving this place, but the lessons learnt will never
go away, and in that sense the endearing connection will always be.
Hoping that the journey to face the world of journalism and TV
production is all that and more than I expected, for if there wasn't
a challenge ahead, I wouldn't be motivated to pursue it. Bon voyage
and may you always find the strength to pursue your dreams!
